Thiruvananthapuram: A video showing a man digging out objects allegedly related to 'black magic' from Kerala Congress leader's house has set off a huge controversy in the southern state. The video showed the man digging out copper plates and some coloured powders that were allegedly planted to cause harm to KPCC president K Sudhakaran. The video also records conversations purportedly between Sudhakaran and Kasaragod MP Rajmohan Unnithan in the background. Sudhakaran is heard saying that he believes the "black magic" was the reason for his poor health.According to reports, around 20 copper plates were found at Sudhakaran’s residence in Kannur.Kerala minister MB Rajesh, in a jibe at the Congress leader, questioned if Sudhakaran "planted" the items to ping blame on the ruling government. "What dark ages are you living in? This is what the Leader of the Opposition is upto?. K Sudhakaran, who leads the Congress in Kerala in the 21st century, says someone has conspired to eliminate him. Who is it?They must be Congress leaders it seems," Rajesh wrote in a post on Facebook.Sudhakaran is the second Congress leader to raise "black magic" charges against his opponents. Last month, his party colleague from Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, had claimed that a yagya (special worship) was being performed by his political opponents in Kerala. The ritual - which he called 'Raja Kantaka' and 'Marana Mohana Stambhana' yagyas - was being carried out to destabilize the Karnataka government, he said. "The ritual is underway and is being conducted against me, the CM, and to destabilize the Congress government," DK Shivakumar, who is Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister said.Twenty-one red goats, three buffaloes, 21 black sheep, and five pigs are being sacrificed for black magic, he said, claiming that those participating in the ritual informed him about this development.
