Ajay Devgn’s dancing may not follow typical Bollywood flair but that hasn’t stopped his unique style from going viral. His latest appearance in the song Pehla Tu Duja Tu from the upcoming film Son of Sardaar 2 where he and co-star Mrunal Thakur link hands and point fingers in rhythm has taken social media by storm. The playful finger-step had netizens in stitches and soon the Internet was flooded with memes celebrating (and teasing) the actor’s minimal dance move.
The lighthearted buzz caught the attention of his wife and actress Kajol who couldn’t stop laughing when asked about the now-famous finger dance. In an interview, she jokingly praised Ajay as “one of the best dancers” in Bollywood, adding that he’s possibly the only actor today who manages to dance using just his fingers. She humorously recalled how actors once walked in rhythm to music but now, as she puts it, Ajay simply counts with his fingers — “one, two, three, four” — to the beat.
The song sung by Vishal Mishra and composed by Jaani was released a few days ago and has already become a sensation.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Ajay Devgn’s minimalistic dance style has gone viral. A similar moment resurfaced recently from his 2014 film Action Jackson where the finger-step from the song Dhoom Dhaam also became a meme favourite. Speaking about that incident in a podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, Ajay shared that he had told director and choreographer Prabhudeva that he wouldn’t be able to handle complex steps, as dancing wasn’t his strength. In response, Prabhudeva choreographed the now-famous finger move just for him. Ajay recalled telling him, “You’re the dancer, not me,” to which Prabhudeva simply gave him the easiest possible move — just a flick of the fingers.
Whether it is deliberate or just his way of having fun on screen, Ajay Devgn’s “finger choreography” has earned him both laughter and love from audiences and a fair share of gentle trolling from his own wife.
