World Snooker Championship scores LIVE: Selby in trouble as Williams begins bid

After reigning world champion Luca Brecel was dramatically knocked out on Sunday, another huge shock is on the cards for the Crucible today. Four-time winner and world No.5 Mark Selby is trailing qualifier Joe O'Connor 7-2 and is in need of a major turnaround when he restarts at 2.30pm. Three-time champion Mark Williams also gets his campaign going against Si Jiahui.

Shaun Murphy will look to finish the job as he leads Lyu Haotian 6-3. There's no Ronnie O'Sullivan yet though, whose hopes have been boosted further by Brecel's exit. He takes on Jackson Page tomorrow.

The conditons at the Crucible are back under fire though, with Iranian player Hossein Vafaei launching an extraordinary rant after his defeat to Judd Trump. The World Snooker Tour's contract with the venue expires in 2027.

The likes of O'Sullivan and Trump have also called for it to be moved elsewhere, with 'the Rocket' suggesting China or Saudi Arabia. That's despite the area holding the tournament every year since 1977.
