Wednesday bosses have hinted at some unfinished business between Wednesday and Tyler.

The popular series, with its fresh take on the Addams Family universe, became a hit with fans upon its release on Netflix. But it's been a long three year wait for the next instalment.

And as the countdown begins, Audiences have just a few more weeks left to wait before Wednesday season 2 returns to screens. The first season saw Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) start her new life at Nevermore Academy before things took a dark turn.

Fans may remember Tyler (Hunter Doohan) who developed an interest in Wednesday. But it was soon discovered he was in fact the monstrous Hyde.

Season 2 promises "fresh foes and woes" as Wednesday not only has a new mystery to investigate, but also must "navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem", reports the mirror.

Netflix teases: "Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery."

And as excitement continues, Wednesday bosses have hinted at some unfinished business for Wednesday and Tyler.

Fans will remember that Tyler was in the back of an armoured vehicle heading to Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility as boss Alfred Gough said that is where he will be found in season 2, incarcerated and being studied.

But Wednesday needs to go to him for help as Alfred added: "You see that the facade of the nice boy, which dropped at the end of last year, is completely gone now. He's a complete monster, not only physically but psychologically as well."

With "no love triangle this season", fans will see a "fascinating push pull between her emotions" as Wednesday questions why she was attracted to him. Miles Millar said: "There might be a glimmer of something. For Wednesday, it's always the question of why she was attracted to him.

"Is it this idea that she could only fall in love with a monster? Was there something about the darkness in him that she saw and liked?

"There is no love triangle this season, but that relationship is the closest she's going to get to love. It's a fascinating push-pull between her emotions."

He added: "It really unnerves her, being with him. They both play mind games and it's really fun to see them tap dance around each other. Willow Hill, the psychiatric hospital, is a big environment for us this season, and that plays into the mystery that Wednesday uncovers."

Wednesday season two premieres on Wednesday, August 6, on Netflix.
