Virgin River's Mel star laughs at Zibby Allen as she admits she cried at 'stupid' moment'

Virgin River star Zibby Allen revealed she got rather teary-eyed while filming the show's beloved Christmas episodes, but Alexandra Breckenridge couldn't relate.

Zibby, best known for playing the sister of Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson), Brie, opened up about the emotional moment on a new episode of their podcast I Like You Very Much.

Speaking to their co-star Teryl Rothery, who portrays Muriel St. Claire in the Netflix series, the trio reminisced about her "song and dance" during Virgin River's Christmas pageant.

"I cried in the audience!" Zibby admitted, prompted "awws" from the others.

"It was so stupid," she went on. "But it was just so cute and I got overwhelmed by it."

As Zibby spilled her emotions, Mel Monroe star Alexandra could be heard cackling in the background.

"You're the best, Zibby!" Teryl replied while Alexandra was clearly in stitches.

"Alex is like, 'for real?!'" she quipped as Alexandra looked at Zibby nonplussed, still chuckling.

Meanwhile, the Mel star revealed: "I was laughing at things that were going on. Not you... other things that were going on at the time.

"Like Bert, in his outfit? Come on," she added, as a still of Bert actor Trevor Lerner popped up on the screen, his beard lit up for the holidays.

"I know, I loved it!" Zibby remarked. "It touched me. With his ornaments hanging off his beard, it was so extra.

"I think I was just so moved because I was like, 'Is this real life? Like, are we in Virgin River?' It was so precious."

Despite getting a case of the giggles in the background, Mel's storyline in the latest season had fans reaching for the tissues.

After suffering a miscarriage, she broke the news to Jack that she had decided to stop trying to have kids, leaving him devastated though he ultimately understood her choice.

Later on, Mel discovered her biological father was a resident of her idyllic small town, tracking down a man named Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson) who initially wanted nothing to do with her.

He soon realises his mistake, though, and reunites with his daughter before the credits roll on the two-part Christmas special.

But will their reconnection be smooth sailing when the series returns for season six?

Virgin River is available to stream on Netflix.
