A gorgeous little town offering a scenic blend of coastal and hillside landscapes is as pretty as Amalfi but without the large number of tourists that normally visit the gorgeous town. Lascari is a small town located in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, on the northern coast of Sicily, Italy.
Founded in the 17th century by peasants from nearby Gratteri, Lascari was named after the noble Lascari family, who once ruled the area. Today, Lascari is known for its peaceful atmosphere, traditional Sicilian charm, and proximity to popular destinations like Cefalù. The town features narrow streets, historic churches, and local festivals that celebrate its agricultural roots and community spirit.
Its nearby beaches and natural surroundings make it a quiet yet appealing spot for visitors looking to explore authentic Sicilian life away from the more tourist-heavy areas.
In November, Lascari can enjoy mild and pleasant temperatures - as high as 22C - ideal for peaceful beach strolls and countryside exploration under gentle sunshine. Unlike the bustling tourist scenes of Amalfi, Lascari offers a quiet, authentic Sicilian experience.
The town's charm lies in its relaxed pace, with locals gathering at cafés, vibrant markets full of fresh produce, and cozy restaurants serving traditional dishes.
Its proximity to Cefalù adds convenience for sightseeing, while still preserving a tranquil atmosphere.
The town's beaches, like Spiaggia Gorgo Lungo and Spiaggia Salinelle, provide peaceful spots for sunbathing and swimming, with scenic views and nearby resorts perfect for unwinding.
Nature lovers can explore the Lascari coastline, ideal for family picnics and safe swims, or venture to the nearby Madonie Adventure Park for hiking and zip-lining.
The town's historic center invites leisurely strolls through narrow streets and past ancient churches, while the Castle of Scodrillo offers a glimpse into its medieval past.
One of the tourists who visited Spiaggia Gorgo Lungo wrote on TripAdvisor forum: "Enchanting seaside resort in the Northern cost of Sicily Island, on the Tirrenia Sea. Excellent in everything: staff, beach services, foods."
Another user commented: "This is a beautiful beach, which we used a few times. Very popular with the Italians! Busy at the weekends but loads of space on a week day."
Getting to Lascari from the UK is fairly easy. The best option is to fly directly to Palermo Airport, which is about 47 miles from Lascari. Direct flights from cities like London, Manchester, and Birmingham take around three hours, making it a convenient journey.
