The 'ideal' way to preserve garlic with easy storage method - it's 'perfect'

We don't know about you but we get through a lot of garlic.

Let's just say we wouldn't want to be our partner who has to kiss us.

Whether it is for add some flavour to our stir fry, pasta or curry dishes there are endless dishes out there.

And now one person has taken to the online forum site Reddit to ask for advice on preserving garlic for as long as possible.

In a thread titled: 'What the best way to use/preserve a large amount of fresh garlic?.'

The user started the post: "I recently moved into a new apartment and my dear sweet mother gave me a giant bag of fresh garlic from sam's club. i have been trying to get through it but there's just So. Much. Garlic. i don't want it to go to waste because i LOVE garlic.

"Is there an ideal way to preserve it so i actually have a chance to use all of it?

"I'm going to be making some shrimp scampi because i know i can add as much garlic as my heart desires. But any other recommend methods of use or preservation would be greatly appreciated."

People took to share their advice and tips for food storage with one person writing: "Once in a while I'll buy a bag of peeled garlic from Costco, roast it in the oven and put the roasted cloves in freezer ziplock bags to use as needed."

Another said: "Go to the market. Get a nice 5-6 pound roasting chicken. Make roast chicken with 40 cloves.

"That will make a small dent in it."

A third suggested: "Grate, chop or press all the garlic into mince and then place in ziploc bag in single layer. Close the bag, then score the garlic into small squares so after it freezes you can easily break them off into little portions.

"You can then just pull little squares out to use straight from frozen as if it was fresh."

A user commented: "I melt into butter and keep garlic compound butter in the fridge."
