After months of rumours, multiple insider reports claimed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been offered the role of James Bond.
Adding fuel to the speculation, the 33-year-old has played it very coy in interviews when asked about 007.
Being on the cusp of A-list Hollywood (he's leading Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter later this year) and having shown off his comedy and action chops, the rising star is certainly a perfect contender to replace Daniel Craig
The actor's latest part is in The Fall Guy as fictional movie star Tom Ryder, who Ryan Gosling's Colt Seavers is the stuntman for.
Warning: Plot spoilers ahead.
During the film, the muscular Taylor-Johnson's character is described by Gosling's as being "like a Bond villain".
Perhaps it is an Easter egg nod to the rumours, who knows? As pointed out by Screen Rant, what's certainly true is that if not cast as 007, he easily has what it takes to play a baddie.
Whatever the case, here's hoping an official announcement regarding the new Bond is sooner rather than later.
