Fans of the war film and TV genre will be pleased to learn that this beloved series is available on one of the streaming platforms. Band of Brothers has been praised by fans and critics alike, and now it has been named as the "best war mini series" by Collider.
The American war drama series is based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 non-fiction book of the same name. It was created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, who also served as executive producers, and who had collaborated on Saving Private Ryan in 1998, where the series got many of its visual cues and crew members. The series was released in 2001, but it is still loved and watched by many today.

The series' synopsis reads: "This series, originally broadcast on HBO, tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Based on interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers' journals and letters, this 10-part series chronicles the experiences of these young men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. Based on the book written by Stephen Ambrose."
The series is hugely popular and this is reflected in its 97% rating from audience reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes. The critics too rate it, awarding it with an impressive 94% rating. Their consensus states: "Band of Brothers offers a visceral, intense look at the horrors of war - and the sacrifices of the millions of ordinary people who served."
One critic said: "It won six Emmy Awards (out of 19 nominations) and is, simply put, one of the most powerful and captivating portraits of men in war ever put on screen."
Another critic said: "Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks' miniseries is one of the best shows ever to grace the small screen."
One audience reviewer described the series as a "masterpiece".
"Visually amazing, fantastic characters and heart wrenching alongside a score that leaves you taken aback. Some events within this show do differ from real life facts about these incredibly brave men which is a shame but honestly, its a show you have to watch," another added.
Band of Brothers is available to stream on Now TV.
