M1 traffic: Chaos on major motorway as double crash spark huge delays

Motorists on the M1 faced huge traffic woes as National Highways reported two incidents on two separate stretches of the motorway. A collision on the M1 southbound between junctions J37 and J36 prompted some 30-minute delays, while more disruptions were experienced on the motorway's southbound exit slip at junction J24A.

The organisation warned of "severe" traffic delays there, with normal traffic conditions expected not before 09.45am. Moreover, a serious incident involving a collision between a pedestrian and a car on the A50 between the M1 and A6 affected traffic for hours.
