Jennifer Lopez defies age in haute couture Met Gala gown so tight she can barely walk

Beauty is pain! Jennifer "J-Lo" Lopez warned fans that she'd "barely" be able to walk in her Met Gala dress - but maybe the suffering will be worth it since fans and fashion critics alike are crowning her as best dressed of the night.

The triple-threat, 54, who is known for her age-defying looks, stunned on the runway in a rhinestoned Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown.

J-Lo is co-chairing this year's affair, alongside Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Zendaya, with Vogue's Anna Wintour at the helm.

Her co-chair Chris Hemsworth arrived just before her with his wife of 13 years Elsa Pataky - and the duo looked like golden Greek gods.

Co-chair Bad Bunny arrived in a black Maison Margiela suit, with a stark red inner stripe on the pants, paired with a floppy hat, a bouquet of flowers and diamond-shaped, gold-rimmed sunglasses.

Lastly, co-chair Zendaya arrived in a striking and memorable look that alluded to fictional Hunger Games' Effie Trinket, wearing a custom iridescent blue and green Maison Margiela one-shoulder gown by John Galliano, styled by Law Roach, which she paired with a matching feather hat.

The Met Gala is considered the biggest event of the year in fashion in the US, dating back to 1948 when fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert decided to put together the event as a philanthropic opportunity for New York society, per Vanity Fair.

This year's theme is "The Garden of Time," which is inspired by a 1962 short story written by J.G. Ballard, celebrating the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute's spring exhibit, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."
