Jack Draper once questioned why his coach was not showing him footage of Rafael Nadal when he was still developing as a youngster. The 23-year-old now heads to Wimbledon as Britain's leading hopefuls as he looks to follow in the footsteps of Andy Murray.
The world No. 4 will head to SW19 with high hopes, and he will get his tournament underway on Tuesday when he takes on Sebastian Baez. Draper will be brimming with confidence upon his return to familiar territory - and because of the faith he has in his own ability.
Draper has always been confident that he has what it takes to battle it out for titles, so much so that aged 10, he questioned the coaching of Justin Sherring. Whilst working together at Weybridge, Surrey, Sherring wanted to work on Draper's backhand.
He opted to show him a video of then-top-10 player Jurgen Melzer, who was similarly left-handed, but the plan took a turn when Draper was unsure why that was the player who he was advised to pick up improvements from.

Retelling the tale, Sherring told the Daily Mail: "I chose a video of Jurgen Melzer, a top-10 player. Like Jack, he was a lefty and had a great backhand, exactly what we wanted to copy. I stick the video in front of Jack and I say, 'Look at the extension of the arms', but Jack has got this look on his face." Draper then questioned who was actually featuring in the footage, to which Sherring replied: "It's Jurgen Melzer, mate, top 10."
Draper remained unconvinced though, asking: "Why have you brought me Jurgen Melzer?" Sherring then explained that he wanted him to take note of the 'details' and how Melzer used his right arm.
Draper then left Sherring speechless when replying: "Yeah, I get that. But why aren't you showing me Rafael Nadal?" His coach eventually responded: "I'm sorry to have offended you with a top-10 player. What was I thinking?"
Sherring then revealed how the tale concluded in hilarious fashion, explaining: "The next day I bring him in a video of Nadal, the best lefty of all time, and Jack is just giggling at me and goes, 'That's more like it, Justin'.
"This kid, I love him. He's the nicest guy in the world and also a savage. He always knew what he wanted."
