Gardener shares best planting technique for 'magical autumnal backdrop'

Send Push

The joy of having Cyclamen in pots, beds and borders is too much to ignore.

The reds, purples, pinks and whites look magical against the golden autumnal backdrop.

I am creating lots of pots filled with spring bulbs at the moment using my bulb lasagne technique.

This technique is layering spring bulbs in pots, beds and borders to have a continuous flow of spring flowers.

The pots and ground can look a little empty without something to make them sparkle, and for me the Cyclamen fills the gaps perfectly.

The flame like petals of the Cyclamen, standing regimentally upright really do lift our gardens during the autumn season.

The Cyclamen is a tuberous perennial, and with a little care, they come back year after year.

I will be putting Cyclamen into my spring bulb pots and into beds and borders whilst we wait for all those spring bulbs to burst into life early next springtime.

Cyclamen can be moved around so are ideal as a covering plant.
