Terrorist Neutralized in Anti-Infiltration Operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara

JAMMU KASHMIR: On August 29, a terrorist was neutralized during a joint anti-infiltration operation in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The operation was carried out by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police. It was launched in response to intelligence reports indicating potential infiltration attempts in the area. The operation commenced during the night of August 28-29 in the Tangdhar region of Kupwara.

According to a statement from Chinar Corps, "Based on intelligence about possible infiltration attempts, a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police began on the night of August 28-29 in the Tangdhar area of Kupwara. One terrorist is believed to have been neutralized." The operation is still ongoing.

In a related incident, a search operation is also being conducted in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. This follows a clash between terrorists and security forces on August 28. The search, which started around 9:30 pm on August 28, is focused on the Kheri Mohra Lathi and Danthal areas.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, contact with the terrorists was made around 11:45 pm on August 28, leading to an exchange of gunfire near the Kheri Mohra area. More information is expected as the situation develops.
