Kedarnath Temple Gears Up with 40 Quintals of Flowers for Char Dham Yatra Opening

Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand: With the grand opening of Kedarnath Dham just around the corner, the buzz of preparation fills the air, accompanied by reverent worship and Vedic chants.

"The temple is abuzz with preparations, and we're adorning it with a staggering 40 quintals of flowers," announced Ajendra Ajay, President of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC).

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, extending his warm welcome to the devotees, took to his official handle, tweeting, "A heartfelt welcome to all devotees at Shri Kedarnath Dham in Chardham Yatra-2024... Hail Lord Kedar!"

During the grand opening, nationally acclaimed bhajan singers will grace the temple courtyard's adorned stage with their performances.

Today, Lord Kedarnath's Panchmukhi Doli embarked on its journey to Kedarnath Dham from its third stop, Gauramai Temple Gaurikund, at 8:30 am.

Previously, on May 6, the Devdoli reached Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath from Shri Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi for its stay and moved on to its second stop, Phata, on May 7. Finally, the Panchmukhi Doli arrived at Gauramaata Temple Gaurikund late in the evening on May 8.

Dr. Harish Gaur, the Media Incharge of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), informed that volunteers and stakeholders of the committee undertake the barefoot journey of the Panchmukhi idol of Lord Kedarnath from Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath to Shri Kedarnath Dham.
