How Ananya Panday's Hit Series 'Call Me Bae' is Returning for a Second Season

Mumbai: Prime Video India and Dharmatic Entertainment have confirmed the development of a second season for their popular comedy-drama series Call Me Bae. The show, which has consistently topped the charts on Prime Video India and ranked among the top 10 trending titles in over 50 countries including the US, UK, and Australia, is set to return with new episodes.

Nikhil Madhok, head of originals at Prime Video India, shared his excitement about the series' success. "Witnessing the overwhelming love and appreciation for Call Me Bae has been truly amazing," he said. "Encouraged by this response, we are excited to embark on the next chapter of Bae's journey alongside her tribe."

The series, led by Ananya Panday, features a diverse cast including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, and Mini Mathur. Its themes of self-identity and personal belief have resonated deeply with viewers. The soundtrack, with popular tracks like 'Vekh Sohneeya' and 'Churaaiyaan,' has also gained popularity on social media.

Producer Karan Johar expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season. "The first season has been a game-changer for us, and we're grateful for the love it has garnered globally. We're eager to delve deeper into the characters and their stories," Johar said.

Apoorva Mehta from Dharmatic Entertainment echoed this excitement, emphasizing the commitment to building on the series' success. "We are thrilled to develop new character arcs and storylines for the upcoming season," Mehta said.

Call Me Bae is an eight-part series that follows the life of Bella Chowdhary, aka Bae (played by Ananya Panday), as she transitions from being an heiress to a hustler. The show features a vibrant, visually engaging narrative and includes performances by Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.

The series is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serving as executive producers. Written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, and directed by Collin D'Cunha, it marks Ananya Panday’s OTT debut.
