Tesla CEO Elon Musk has stirred controversy by predicting that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will lose his position in the upcoming 2025 elections.
Musk made the bold statement on X, responding to a user who asked for help in removing Trudeau from office, saying, "He will be gone in the upcoming election."
Trudeau, who has led the Liberal Party since 2013, is facing increasing pressure as he leads a minority government. His continued support for unchecked immigration policies has been a major point of contention, especially among his political opponents. With electoral challenges looming from Pierre Poilievre's Conservative Party and Jagmeet Singh's New Democratic Party, the prime minister's re-election prospects appear uncertain.
Musk has also voiced his dissatisfaction with the Canadian government's stance on free speech, particularly with new regulations that require online streaming services to register for government oversight.
Trudeau’s administration may face additional challenges from former U.S. President Donald Trump, whose proposed policies could have serious ramifications for Canada's economy, given that 75% of its exports go to the United States.
Furthermore, diplomatic relations between Canada and India have been strained, with India raising concerns over extremism and anti-India activities in Canada. India has repeatedly criticized the Trudeau government for its handling of Khalistani extremism, urging Canadian authorities to take stronger actions against such activities.
