NEW DELHI: In a strategic move ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has launched the 'Jan Sampark' campaign. This initiative aims to connect directly with Delhi voters by distributing letters that explain the circumstances surrounding his and other party leaders' arrests in corruption cases.
Kejriwal asserts that the arrests were politically motivated attempts to hinder AAP's progress and service delivery to the people of Delhi. "I have prepared a letter, and our workers will go door to door with this letter until October 29," Kejriwal said, emphasizing the importance of reaching out to the electorate during this critical period.
In the letter, Kejriwal addresses the public directly, stating, "I am not corrupt; I was sent to jail by the BJP to stop the AAP government's work for the people of Delhi." He elaborates on the five months he spent in jail, asserting that the arrests were part of a larger strategy to undermine the facilities and services his government has been providing.
The 'Jan Sampark' campaign is designed not only to inform voters but also to rally support for AAP in the face of allegations and political challenges. AAP workers will actively engage with residents, ensuring that the message reaches every household in the capital.
With the elections approaching, this campaign is a vital component of AAP's strategy to reaffirm its commitment to the people of Delhi and counter any negative narratives. The party aims to highlight its achievements while addressing the controversies surrounding its leadership.
