How did the fraud happen?
According to reports, the woman obtained this amount from Aviva Life Insurance Company. To do this, she prepared a fake death certificate and other forged documents in her husband's name and submitted them to the insurance company. The company, unsuspecting, transferred the insurance amount of 25 lakh rupees to the woman's account.
How was the matter exposed?
The case came to light when the woman's husband went to another insurance branch to obtain a new policy. Upon reviewing his documents, it was discovered that the man had already been declared dead. Upon learning of this, the insurance company launched an internal investigation. The investigation revealed that all the documents submitted by the woman were fraudulent.
The company took legal action.
