Plaster on Leg, Crutches in Hand: Rishabh Pant Shares Injury Update, Ruled Out of Final England Test

Team India suffered a major blow during the Manchester Test as star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant sustained a serious injury. While the Indian team managed to draw the fourth Test with a commendable batting performance, Pant’s injury has ruled him out of the final match of the series, set to begin on July 31.

Pant has now shared a photo on social media, revealing his current condition. In the image, he is seen with a plaster on his leg and a crutch in hand. Alongside the picture, he posted an emotional message for fans:

“I appreciate all your love and best wishes. It has been a real source of strength. I will start rehab once my fracture heals and I am slowly getting into the process. Keep being patient, follow the routine, and give your 100%. Playing for the country has always been the proudest moment of my life. Can’t wait to get back to doing what I love.”

How Pant Got Injured

The injury occurred during the 68th over of India’s innings on Day 1 when Chris Woakes bowled a sharp yorker that struck Pant on the foot. Attempting a reverse sweep, Pant missed the ball, which hit his shoe directly. He was in visible pain and had to retire hurt. Later, it was confirmed that he had suffered a thumb fracture.

Despite the injury, Pant returned to bat the next day and displayed true grit by scoring a half-century. However, the damage was significant enough to sideline him from the all-important final Test.
