An interesting piece of information has emerged after Rishabh Pant was not retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Pant's nine-year association with the 2020 finalists came to an end as the franchise released him. Axar remained the team's first choice in the retention list. However, a new report has revealed that Pant was unhappy with the decisions taken by co-owners GMR Group. GMR Group will run the franchise for the next two years. GMR Group had also recently made changes in the coaching staff.

According to a report by news agency PTI, Pant was unhappy with the decision to appoint Hemang Badani as the head coach and Venugopal Rao as the Director of Cricket at DC. Apart from this, it is reported that Pant was also unhappy with his powers being curbed by the GMR Group. Earlier, it was reported that Delhi Capitals were considering taking away the captaincy from Pant and handing it over to Axar Patel.
