Hyderabad, Aug 4: In a shocking incident, a 43-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of her apartment in Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, on Saturday, August 2. Police have found a handwritten suicide note in which the deceased has expressed her wish to "meet God through self-sacrifice". According to a report by Aaj Tak, the deceased woman has been identified as Pooja Jain (43). The incident took place when her husband, Arun Kumar Jain, had gone to work. A suicide note has been recovered from the spot in which she had written that she was taking this step to meet God through self-sacrifice.

Reportedly, the woman had recently become deeply involved in religious rituals, meditation, and spiritual studies. Neighbours said that she had gradually withdrawn from everyday life and often spoke of renouncing worldly bonds to attain spiritual liberation. Police have registered a case and are investigating all aspects of the incident, though no signs of foul play or mental illness have been found so far. The body has been sent for postmortem, and officials are also speaking to family and acquaintances to better understand the circumstances.
Last month, a woman in Hyderabad committed suicide after losing nearly Rs 1 lakh in a complex work-from-home scam hatched via Telegram. The victim, identified as Ganga Anusha, a resident of Tulsi Nagar, was allegedly lured by a fraudulent online job advertisement promising easy money.
Before her death, she left a note in which she warned others not to fall prey to similar scams on Telegram, calling the platform a "den of frauds" and urging people to be cautious. The police have registered a case and launched an intensive investigation into the cyber fraud that ultimately led to Anusha's death.
