Strictly's Jamie Borthwick's love life and romance with EastEnders co-stars and 'huge crush'

Strictly Come Dancing star, Jamie Borthwick, is sure to attract a whole host of fans when he takes to the stage for his ballroom debut.

The Barking-born actor, 30, who plays Jay Brown in EastEnders, is one of the favourites to win the sequin-strewn show as he makes his TV debut away Albert Square - after having already impressed in last year's Christmas special.

Off-screen, the star also has a very colour personal life. He has been romantically linked to not one but two stunning EastEnders actress and admitted to being 'in love' with a third. As he prepares to dip his shoes into BBC's Strictly, the star confessed he is currently single.

Speaking at the series' launch do, Jamie joked 'no-one loves him' at the moment as he revealed whether he had embarked on a strict "sex ban" in preparation for the gruelling rehearsals.

However, despite his candid admission, we think a flurry of fans are going to love Jamie, so as we get ready to watch the actor in action on the weekend, here's the lowdown on his romantic life...

Denies romance with Danielle Harold

Earlier this year, mechanic, Jay Brown, was left bereft after his wife Lola Pearce, played by Danielle Harold, succumbed to a terminal brain tumour.

Fans of the Walford-based drama were left in tears when the tragic storyline came to an end - but they were happy to know that, off-screen, the chemistry between Jamie and his on-screen wife Danielle appeared to still be going strong.

The pair were rumoured to be romantically involved after Lola drew her last breath when the actors were papped looking cosy at a number of award shows. However, Jamie denied the pair were anything more than friends.

Linked to co-star Jazzy Phoenix

Soon after Lola's passing, Jay bumped into her doppelganger, Nadine Keller, played by Jazzy Phoenix and began to spend time with her. Once again, Jamie was surrounded by rumours suggesting he had moved on from Danielle and embarked on another relationship with Jazzy after sharing snaps of the himself larking around with the actress on social media.

Speculation around the actor's love life had been rife, prompting Jamie to set the record straight ahead of his Strictly appearance last Christmas.

Denying he was romantically involved with Jazzy or Danielle, he told the Mirror: "They linked me with Jazzy and they linked me with Danielle. I'm just surprised they haven't linked me with (Strictly Come Dancing partner) Nancy (Xu)!" When probed further about his love life, Jamie added: "There is no lady on the scene at the minute, I'm just enjoying the quiet life."

Admits to having a huge crush on EastEnders actress

Jamie previously admitted to being "in love" with actress Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell in EastEnders. Their characters became a thing onscreen, but they later split due to the age gap between them saying they were "at different stages of their lives".

However, in real-life Jamie, the actor, who joined EastEnders in 2006, was here for the storyline and once told the TV Times: "I was about 14 when I first set eyes on Emma Barton. I fell in love with her long, shapely legs and I wanted to marry her."

He joked his co-star Perry Fenwick - who plays Billy Mitchell and Honey's husband in the soap - dared him to chat Emma up but it all went wrong. Jamie confessed: "I remember walking over to her and saying, 'Alright darlin', wow, you smell nice.' It brought the house down and we still laugh about it now."
