PS Plus is about to get even bigger as the latest Extra and Premium drop nears, and if our predictions are right, it could be an opportunity for the service to prove its own against Xbox Game Pass.
More games are on the table, and though the service’s structure in 2025 has been to offer good games to either Essential or Extra and Premium players, this month has been thrust into uncertainty. This accidental on-off system has been running strong this year, with the delivery flopping with the arrival of UFC 5 as a headliner receiving a firm KO from the , featuring AAA barnstormer . It’s not an ideal look for , but this month could end up turning it around.
We were lucky enough to get a solid reveal, led by RoboCop and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for a nostalgia-fuelled joyride, but it does throw the shortly incoming PS Plus Extra and Premium reveal date into a quality-investigating quandary. Luckily, we have a pretty good means of predicting what could be next to make an appearance on the service.
Our way of predicting the games that come to any given PS Plus drop is to take a look at the games that released on the service this time last year, add a year to those games’ initial release dates on PlayStation consoles, and see what turns up in that release month. It’s no exact science, but it can be pretty helpful – and it means that the PS Plus Extra and Premium April 2025 reveal date could turn out some quality titles this time around.
Aside from the day one releases of this month, the drop was led by Odd Ballers, The Crew 2 and Construction Simulator. Odd Ballers of course leads the charge here, and after its release in January 2023, we can look to a year later, where we see the games with a January 2024 release date to be : Infinite Wealth, Tekken 8 and Howl.
Of course, the former would be a great game to lock down, especially as the has led to the entire franchise being pulled from the service. It’d be a real power move. We also know for certain that Blue Prince will appear this month, after it was revealed that it would also be coming to on Thursday, April 10, and PlayStation revealed in its that it would come to the service on day one.
We won’t know for sure what’s coming until the games are revealed, though, and luckily for us, that’s not far off. Here’s when to expect the PS Plus Extra and Premium April 2025 reveal date.

PS Plus Extra and Premium April 2025 reveal dateThe PS Plus Extra and Premium April 2025 reveal date is set for Wednesday, April 9, at 8.30am PDT / 11.30am EDT / 4.30am BST. We know this because the PS Plus Extra and Premium games of any given month are always revealed on the second Wednesday, before being released on the following Tuesday – which in this case is Tuesday, April 16.
It’s not long to wait for a new batch of games, and if they match up with our predictions, then we’re in for a big month that proves that PS Plus can effectively fill the gaps that Xbox Game Pass clearly misses or loses grip of. Games to play at no extra cost are always a treat, but PS Plus has the opportunity to really stick its flag in the ground on the PS Plus Extra and Premium April 2025 reveal date. No pressure.
