Jorgie Porter and Tina O'Brien suffer very awkward British Soap Awards blunder

Coronation Street's and actress suffered an awkward blunder at the British Soap Awards. The actresses joined their co-stars on the red carpet for the annual event, which is taking place tonight.

Famous faces from across the soap have come together to honour actors and actresses who've found themselves at the centre of some of the biggest storylines of the past year. This year, categories include Best on-screen Partnership, Best Newcomer, Best Storyline, Best Young Performer, Scene of the Year, Outstanding Achievement Award and the Tony Warren Award.

However, Jorgie and Tina suffered a very awkward blunder as they rocked up on the red carpet, wearing the exact same dress. Jorgie, 37, looked sensational as she stepped out on the carpet in a sheer gold dress.

The actress posed for the photographers while showcasing her gym-honed physique in the gown, which left very little to the imagination. Completing her look, she opted for minimal jewellery, including a silver diamonté bracelet and a silver watch. Jorgie kept her signature blonde hair off her face in a sleeked-back style.

Meanwhile, Tina, 41, who is famous for playing Sarah Platt on , looked equally as glamorous at the star-studded event. The star boasted a glowing tan for the occasion, which added to her look.

Like Jorgie, Tina kept her accessories to a minimum and only wore a small pair of earrings. Her hair was styled into voluminous waves, cascading freely down her shoulders and resting on her chest. The pair appeared on the red carpet just ten minutes apart, which prevented a very awkward encounter had they arrived at the same time and made the discovery.

Both soaps are set to go head-to-head in the Best British Soap category, while Tina's on-screen family, The Platts, are nominated for Best Family, going up against the likes of ' The Slaters, The Osbornes from and The Dingles from .

Taking to social media, fans couldn't believe the awkward encounter as one typed: "Not Tina O'Brien and Jorgie Porter wearing the same dress."

But while fans eagerly wait to find out who will be crowned the winners, many have been left annoyed that the awards ceremony isn't airing live on TV. Instead, it'll air on Thursday night.

Taking to X to slam the delay in broadcast, one fan raged: "It's ridiculous that the British Soap Awards isn't live… there's more hype for the soap stars arriving outside for something not even airing on tv for another week than there is the final… sort it out for next year please @."

A second fumed: "Soap Awards getting spoiled because ITV thinks people would rather watch BGT instead." Meanwhile, a third added: "The soap awards not being aired live is such a let down, who at ITV thought that was a good idea? There isn't any point watching it now... #BritishSoapAwards."
