'God tier' TV show is 'greatest of all time' and people can't stop rewatching it

TV lovers have beenleft on the edge of their seats after watching a psychological drama dubbed "one of the greatest shows of all time". Film buff Eccy Reviews, who uses his TikTok channel to share must-watch movies and series, urged everyone to check out The Leftovers.

The show, created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, is set three years after the disappearance of 2% of the global human population. It follows "a group of people in a small New York community try to continue their lives while coping with the tragedy of the unexplained nature of the event". Starring Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, and Christopher Eccleston, the show has won 23 awards alongside its 84 nominations.

In his video, Eccy Reviews said: "Not many shows if ever have reached this level of greatness because this is truly one of the greatest pieces of television in history.

"There's a generally whole collective that think this show is the greatest of all time. If you're someone who has seen it, I bet you'll agree."

The show, which is available on Now TV, Sky and HBO Max, has sparked a discussion on social media, with one TikTok user commenting: "OMG, The Leftovers is my favourite show of all time."

Another user added: "God tier show."

A third user said: "Is it just me or does this show feel like the perfect mix of 'What the heck is happening?' and 'I need answers right now!' Anyone else just as confused but hooked."

Sharing a review on IMDb, one viewer said: "It could be difficult to pinpoint what the show is about; among other things, it is about struggling with grief, faith, and mental disorders.

"Don't expect this show to be like Lost. That said, there are some similarities.

"The Leftovers is a psychological drama at its finest. It is like reading an exquisite book; the characters are extremely fleshed out, the plot defies expectations. And it only gets better with each season.

"Damon Lindelof, the writer for both The Leftovers and Lost, is a genius. He is the best at creating character driven stories.

"So, if you liked Lost mainly for its characters' stories and not for the convoluted, sci-fi mystery, then you might like The Leftovers as well."
