Gen V’s long-awaited second season is just around the corner, but what has been confirmed about the superhero college drama’s return so far?
Prime Video’s hit spin-off of The Boys is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated shows of the year following its unexpected delay.
Originally premiering back in September 2023, it was quickly renewed for a second season just a month later, with fans anticipating a swift return to Godolkin University.

Unfortunately, the tragic loss of main cast member Chance Perdomo forced production to halt, so the second instalment is arriving a little later than expected.
Created by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, Gen V season two is shaping up to be a must-watch for comic book and dark drama fans.
Gen V season two will have a lot of pieces to pick up, notably the shocking loss of Perdomo’s character Andre Anderson, who Kripke has confirmed will die in the series rather than being recast.
The students will have a sinister new dean to contend with, Dean Cipher (played by Hamish Linklater), while also dealing with the reign of psychotic supe Homelander (Antony Starr).
An official synopsis for the second season reveals: “School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever.
“Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss.
“But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus.
“The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.”
With the exception of Perdomo, the entire main cast of Gen V’s first season will be returning, led by Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, an ambitious hero with the ability to control blood.
Joining the cast this time around are the aforementioned Linklater as Dean Cipher, plus Wicked star Ethan Slater as Thomas Godolkin.
The full main cast is as follows:
- Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau
- Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer / Little Cricket
- Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap
- London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li
- Asa Germann as Samuel ‘Sam’ Riordan
- Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher
- Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity

Several characters from the world of The Boys are also expected to make cameos. They include:
- Chace Crawford as Kevin Moskowitz / The Deep
- Valorie Curry as Misty Tucker Gray / Firecracker
- Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir II
- Susan Heyward as Jessica ‘Sage’ Bradley / Sister Sage
- Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar
Erin Moriarity is already confirmed to guest star as Annie January / Starlight, as is Zach McGowan as Dogknott.
Filling out the supporting cast are Keeya King, Stephen Kalyn, Julia Knope, Stacey McGunnigle, Tait Fletcher, Wyatt Dorion, and Georgie Murphy.
Fans don’t have too long to wait as the second season of Gen V will be released in just a week’s time.
Even better, viewers have three brand new episodes to get stuck into.
Season two is set to premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, 17th September.
New episodes will then follow on a weekly basis, concluding with the finale on Wednesday, 22nd October.
