Eamonn Holmes fans in disbelief as he enjoys dinner with stunning Hollywood star after online friendship

Ever full of surprises, Eamonn Holmes has done it again with his latest social media offering.

The TV presenter, 64, who announced his split from his wife Ruth Langsford, also 64, took to Instagram on Monday to reveal his friendship with a very unlikely Hollywood star.

Eamonn, who has recently gone public with his new girlfriend, counsellor Katie Alexander, posed alongside non-other than Hollywood favourite Kate Beckinsale in his latest post. The former This Morning presenter beamed alongside the Serendipity actress, 51, as the pair met for the first time after being friends on social media for years.

Alongside the surprising post, Eamonn wrote: "After years of being SM friends an ambition fulfilled tonight with the wonderful actress Kate Beckinsale.” Eamonn looked happier than ever as he beamed next to Kate. Wearing a navy suit and crisp white shirt, he beamed from ear-to-ear as he posed with the actress.

Meanwhile, Kate looked glamorous as always as she modelled a pleated black mini skirt and a white off-the-shoulder top with an exaggerated floral detail. The talented actress wore her chestnut locks in a high ponytail and finished off the youthful look with a quirky headband.

Eamonn has been living it up in recent months - despite his chronic pain battle - following his split from ex-wife, Ruth Langsford. The pair married for 14 years and were together for almost three decades. However, insiders have said that Ruth trying her best to move on following the collapse of her union to the broadcaster and she's grappling with revelations that Eamonn is seeing someone new already.

Snaps of Eamonn with his new flame Katie, 42, made the rounds, showing the pair in Barcelona prepared to go on a Mediterranean cruise together, then packing on the PDA in Ibiza – a trip which reportedly followed a weekend break to Eamonn's hometown of Belfast. Sources suggest that Ruth has been taken aback by these developments.

"Ruth is pretty shocked at Eamonn's behaviour and how he's moved on so fast, it's quite devastating," sources told OK! Nevertheless, the celeb, now flaunting a refreshed, lengthened hairstyle thanks to extensions, is focused on relishing her newfound single status and what lies ahead, they assert.

The mum-of-one, who shares her grown-up son Jack with Eamonn, has been seen enjoying several lively nights out with friends recently, seemingly as a way to distract herself from her personal troubles. Most notably, she had a fun-filled evening with her old friend Rylan Clark, ending up at his Essex home along with Lizzie Cundy.

Their night of revelry was documented on Rylan's Instagram stories, where Ruth was seen enthusiastically enjoying two cocktails simultaneously while the trio "put the world to rights".

Eamonn's reported new romance with Katie came to light in May after he left the Surrey home he shared with Ruth, amid allegations of messages found to another woman. The GB News presenter, who has three children from his first marriage to Gabrielle Holmes, who he married in 1985, has since moved into a London flat, where Katie is said to be a regular visitor post-split.

Despite the marital turbulence, both Eamonn and Ruth have been spotted still wearing their wedding bands. Concerns for Ruth were raised by viewers when she appeared on Loose Women, looking visibly upset. At the National Television Awards (NTAs) last Wednesday night, Ruth's Loose Women colleagues spoke of how their friend was doing, following her separation.

Kaye Adams said: "She's doing great," while Nadia Sawalha added that Ruth "looks amazing". Asked about the bond between them all, Kaye said: "We're friends and that's what friends do. And we've all had highs and lows and we've all supported each other."
