BREAKING: Oasis start live rehearsals in Cardiff as Liam and Noel Gallagher appear on stage

Oasis have arrived in Cardiff ahead of the start of their sensational reunion tour, which will finally see Noel and Liam Gallagher on stage. The once warring brothers have now been heard on stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium ahead of their headline show on Friday night.

As fans gear up for one of the most biblical reunions in music history, those close to the stadium heard Cigarettes and Alcohol blasting out of the stadium. The countdown is now on for the first show of the world tour, with the band having got back together several months ago to begin jamming. The first photos of the band leaving rehearsals in London were published in May. They showed Noel Gallagher, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell, who will play guitars in the massive sold-out gigs, with Andy on bass. Liam, who was initially on vocal rest, then joined on June 3.

The band also has new members in keyboard player Christian Madden and drummer Joey Waronker on drums. He has played with Liam before on a tour, but never in Oasis. Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together in public, since the band split nearly two decades ago, on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as part of the tour. Speaking about the shows, a source told us:"With a new lineup and it being such a huge first show, the boys will do some songs inside the venue too.

"Some tours would start with a smaller show or take a week or two to get into the groove again. But there is no time for that, and also Liam and Noel want every night to be massive. This is such a huge comeback show, and they are taking it very seriously. It all points to it being an incredible comeback tour."

Fans have since reacted to the sound of the rehearsals, with one writing: "The calm before the storm." A second tweeted: "Oh my God, genuinely impossible for anyone to hate on this Noel & Liam weren't lying when they said they sounded dangerous."

"Oh my Christ," exclaimed another. Meanwhile, a fourth penned: "OMG this is happening!" Noel, 57, quit the Manchester rock group on August 28 2009, saying he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer", and the brothers had made negative comments about each other for more than a decade.

That all changed with the announcement of the tour in August last year. The pair posed for several photos together confirming the band's long-awaited reunion on Tuesday, saying: "The great wait is over."

In April, Live Forever by Oasis was crowned the best British song of all time in a new poll ahead of the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour this summer.

The Manchester band led by Noel and Liam Gallagher had an incredible 16 tracks in the top 100 results by Radio X. As well as Live Forever, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger,’ ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’ also made the top 10.

It was Radio X’s 10th annual Best Of British with B&Q poll. The new live shows will also feature special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast, who are friends with the band. Noel broke his silence in a new book to talk about the Oasis Live 25 tour.

On the demand for tickets, Noel told photographer Kevin Cummins: "I thought it'd be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was.”

He was also quizzed to name his favourite Oasis song, which could give us a hint of the set list for the tour. He replied: "Can I have more than one? Supersonic, Some Might Say, Live Forever and Rock'n'Roll Star." Fans got in the mood to see Oasis after watching Liam and Noel back together in the new Adidas advert in June.

In the promo video, the Oasis anthem Live Forever can be heard and there are scenes reminiscent of early Oasis gigs with fans wearing new Adidas clothing complete with the famous Oasis band logo. Footage of giant Adidas footballs which were kicked out at the start of the Knebworth concerts could also be seen.

At one point a tambourine appeared to hit ice and Liam's voice could be heard saying: “There are days when you are in the zone, you know what I mean? You just stand perfectly still while there’s all this chaos going on around you. Not feeling the need to join in the madness, just thinking, this is the best feeling in the world. Just absolutely still.”

Liam and Noel could then be seen heading to stage ready to play a gig before the final shot of the advert showed them reunited and posing together.
