BBC Breakfast has extended an apology following a technical blunder that caused a brief disruption during the live show. On Thursday's (August 7) morning programme, presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were on air delivering the top stories of the day.
Yet, proceedings hit a snag when a'very odd' technical glitch led to an unexpected interruption for some viewers.
The glitch resulted in the show being momentarily 'taken off air', with some audience members reporting a bizarre switch to another channel featuring a preacher, before normal service resumed.

The BBC has since acknowledged the error and offered their apologies to those who experienced the issue, which appeared to be localised to certain regions.
A spokesperson for the BBC conveyed their regret: "Due to a technical issue, viewers in the Midlands experienced a short interruption to BBC Breakfast this morning. We apologise for this," reports the Express.
Social media was abuzz with viewer reactions as soon as the incident occurred. One individual reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that they were tuned into Breakfast on TBN UK when it happened saying: "Anyone else got tbnuk just taken over #bbcbreakfast?".
Another viewer expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of immediate explanation from the hosts: "Yes - and then a switch back after 5 mins without any explanation!"!
A third joined the conversation, saying: "Yes, I was so confused."
Another viewer expressed their frustration: "My head hurts now!" A perplexed fan shared their experience: "Its just happened again & also on iplayer, but still #BBCBreakfast on BBCNews! I have Virgin - it may be coming through their feed?".
Yet another viewer noted the oddity: "Same here. Very odd that there was no apparent awareness by the presenters after it cleared?"

It comes as BBC Breakfast's weather presenter Carol Kirkwood discussing the trials faced by meteorologists amidst news of an innovative collaboration.
Carol delved into the complexities of weather forecasting in a detailed piece for the BBC, explaining why predictions can sometimes seem inaccurate and highlighting the advancements in the field.
"I have been looking at the changes in the weather throughout my career, how much more accurate it is now. Yet, sometimes, it's still perceived to be wrong. Occasionally it is wrong, but we're much more accurate now than we ever were before," Carol revealed on the show, also touching upon her recent nuptials.
She further commented on the benefits of the new partnership: "And, of course, with the new partnership with the Met Office, that means we're going to have expertise of two large organisations."
BBC Breakfast is broadcast daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
