A 52-year-old power loom owner who had been missing for the past four days was found dead in an isolated area of Bhiwandi on Tuesday evening. The deceased, Farhat Eklakh Ahmad Shaikh, resided with his family in the Shantinagar area of Bhiwandi, though he originally hailed from the Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Shantinagar Police, on April 12, Shaikh left his home at around 10:30 am on his motorcycle to meet a caterer in Bhiwandi. However, he did not return home that night. His family began searching for him but were unable to trace his whereabouts. They eventually approached the Shantinagar Police Station and filed a missing person complaint.
Police said that upon reviewing CCTV footage from a nearby locality, Shaikh was seen riding his motorcycle toward the Karivli area in Bhiwandi. Based on this footage, his motorcycle was located within the jurisdiction of the Bhoiwada Police Station. His body, found in a decomposed condition in the bushes in Karivli, was sent to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Bhiwandi for a post-mortem examination.
Police sources confirmed that the process of registering an FIR is currently underway at the Bhoiwada Police Station.
