Mumbai: The Mumbai Metro crossed its highest-ever daily ridership on June 18, recording 2,94,681 passenger journeys in a single day, all amid heavy rain in the city. This historic achievement highlights the growing trust and reliance Mumbaikars have placed in the metro system for their daily commute.
Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) shared the achievement through an enthusiastic post via X on Friday, calling it “a record-breaking ride!” The corporation extended heartfelt thanks to the commuters of Mumbai for making this record possible.

“Maha Mumbai Metro is riding a high,” the message read, reflecting the positive momentum and the increasing adoption of metro travel by the public. The post credited the steady rise in ridership to the continued support of commuters and the tireless efforts of the operations team working behind the scenes.
“This growth has only been possible because of your faith in us and the consistent hard work of our team,” the statement continued in the post. The Mumbai metro also shared the data on the highest single-day ridership in the past, from August 6, 2024, to June 18, 2025.

In a recent post, data regarding ridership on the Mumbai Metro was shared. The ridership has been steadily increasing, with the following figures recorded on specific dates:
On June 18, 2025, there were 294,681 passengers; on October 7, 2024, there were 292,575 passengers; on September 5, 2024, there were approximately 281,249 passengers, and on September 3, 2024, the count was 279,717. On August 13, 2024, there were 278,443 passengers, and on August 6, 2024, the count was 269,230. Notably, June 18 had the highest single-day ridership on the Mumbai Metro, even amid rainfall in the city.
With over 2,94,681 passengers choosing the metro in a single day, the corporation looks forward to breaking more records and serving the city better each day. The message concluded, “Let’s keep moving forward, together. Thank you for choosing us!”
