When to start brushing baby teeth: Parents have many questions about their children's health. One such question is, at what age should they start brushing their teeth for oral health? Most parents think that a child's baby teeth fall out on their own, meaning they don't need as much care. But is this right? Should we wait for their baby teeth to fall out before brushing? Let's find out from the experts:

At what age should a child start brushing their teeth?
Pediatrician Nimisha Arora shared a video on her Instagram handle regarding this. In the video, the doctor explains that brushing should begin as soon as a child's first tooth emerges. This removes bacteria and dirt from the teeth and keeps them strong. Children should brush twice a day—once in the morning and once before bed.
What kind of brush should be used?
Always use a baby toothbrush for children. It is small and fits comfortably in a child's mouth. Ensure the bristles are very soft to avoid damaging the child's delicate gums and teeth. Never use a large or hard brush, as this can injure the gums.
Which toothpaste is right?
Pediatricians say that fluoride toothpaste is best for children. Fluoride strengthens teeth and prevents cavities. However, choose a toothpaste with a fluoride content that is safe for children's age.
How much toothpaste should be used?
If the child is younger than 3 years old, apply only a grain of toothpaste about the size of a grain of rice.
If the child is older than 3 years old, use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
There's no need to apply more toothpaste than this, as young children often swallow toothpaste while brushing.

Keep these things in mind as well.
Pediatricians say that if children are introduced to brushing from an early age, their teeth remain healthy and strong for a long time. This simple care can prevent major dental problems later on. Therefore, start brushing as soon as your child's first tooth appears and make it a part of their daily routine.
