The power of passport is something that can't be underplayed. It's that one thing which decides how you travel, the destinations you can go to with ease, and the ones you can't. The Henley Passport Index , which determines and ranks countries based on their passports and their citizens' freedom to travel, has ranked Singaporean passport as the most powerful passport in 2024.
How does the ranking happen?
The rankings happen based on the number of countries a passport can take you without the need for a visa before arrival. Other factors that are taken into account include a country's diplomatic relation with other countries, and the international agreements in place. The data that's required to determine the ranking is provided by International Air Transport Authority (IATA), who is responsible for maintaining precise and detailed global travel data.
