3 Effective DIY homemade masks for acne-prone oily skin

Send Push
We are all blessed with different skin types, where some have dry and oily skin and others are left with combination or acne-prone skin. However, girls having acne-prone skin are not blessed with this combination but are usually stressed out with their prescribed medicines and are always engaged in creating a natural remedy for their breakouts.

However, the key is to first identify your skin type and then use only the ingredients that are most suitable for your skin type. Avoid using complicated natural remedies with 4-5 ingredients, but use these 3 types of easy-to-make DIY homemade masks and apply them twice a week to stay away from bacteria, facial acne, and infections during the summer.

Tomato juice and aloe vera

Lycopene, which is abundant in tomatoes, protects the skin from UV light damage. Brimming with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents, it protects the skin, keeping it supple and smooth. Aloe vera, on the other hand, stimulates the production of collagen and promotes elasticity and lustre. It cools the skin and works to reduce scarring, irritation, and redness. Let’s see how to create magic with these two active ingredients.

Step 1: Take 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel and 3 tablespoons of tomato juice.

Step 2: Mix them well and form a thick paste.

Step 3: Apply this treatment after washing your face and leave the mask for 30 minutes.

Step 4: Gently scrub your face in a circular motion with cold water and see the change.

Cucumber and oatmeal

A great combination for acne-prone skin, cucumber works marvellously as a coolant and helps reduce swelling and heal scars. Oatmeal, on the other hand, is rich in reducing inflammation and instantly kills the bacteria that caused the acne. It might change immediately, but it will reduce the increase in acne. Let’s see how to create this very commonly found ingredient in nearly every kitchen.

Step 1: Take 1 peeled cucumber, add 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, and add 1 teaspoon of honey.

Step 2: Mash it all in a grinder and transfer the paste to a bowl.

Step 3: Wash your face before applying the paste and let the contents work on your skin.

Step 4: Rinse off with lukewarm water after 30 minutes and end it with a splash of cold water to tighten the pores.

Honey and kefir

Bacterial infections are one of the main causes of acne. Honey and kefir can help with acne, which naturally irritates your skin. Honey has antibacterial properties and prevents inflammation. Kefir is a probiotic that keeps your skin healthy and functional and has alpha-hydroxy acid that sloughs away the dead skin cells and stimulates the production of collagen. When applied, this combination acts like a protective blanket and bars bacteria from entering the skin, making the risk of infection less. Let’s create this facial mask.

Step 1:
Take ½ cup of kefir and 2 tablespoons of honey.

Step 2: Mix the paste well and wash your face with lukewarm water.

Step 3: Apply this moisturiser to your face after drying it and keep it for 30 minutes.

Step 4: Use cold water to remove the mask and protect your skin from bacterial infections.
