'Shark Tank India' judge Vineeta Singh slams trolls who spread fake news of her death, takes legal action

Vineeta Singh is in no mood to spare anybody. The ‘ Shark Tank India’ judge lambasted people who have spread rumours of her death persistently. Taking to X on Saturday, the Sugar Cosmetics CEO shared a screenshot of some fake news that claimed she had passed away and lamented that for over five weeks, she had been subjected to malicious misinformation. The entrepreneur revealed that despite lodging a complaint with the police, she continued to be bombarded with fake news of her demise or arrest.

“ Been dealing with paid PR about my death & my arrest for 5 weeks. Ignored it at first, then reported to @Meta several times, filed @Mum_CyberPolice complaint but it’s not stopping. The hardest part is when folks panic & call my mom…” read the post.

The post went viral, gaining more than 271K views.

Reacting to the post, one X user wrote, “Just like financial scams, just about anything is being put on social media platforms (paid). This is quite shocking. Meta needs to be held accountable.”

Some users asked the entrepreneur to file a defamation case against the mischief makers. “That seems to be a deliberate character assassination by @Meta .. @vineetasng should file a defamation suit..” wrote another.

Vineeta Singh has played a vital role in Shark Tank India since its inception. Recently, she posted a lively video on her Instagram account from the wrap-up party of the show's third season, expressing her gratitude to her fellow sharks and the production team.
