In a display of solidarity and support, political leaders like PM Narendra Modi and Bollywood celebrities including megastar Shah Rukh Khan came together to applaud Team India's commendable performance in the ICC World Cup 2023, despite their heartbreaking defeat against Australia in the final match.

Political Leaders Praise Team India's Efforts
After India's loss to Australia, PM Modi took to X (Twitter) to extend his wishes to the Men in Blue, acknowledging their stellar performance throughout the tournament.

"Congratulations to Australia on a magnificent World Cup victory! Theirs was a commendable performance through the tournament, culminating in a splendid triumph. Compliments to Travis Head for his remarkable game today," PM Modi wrote.


He also praised the Indian team for their efforts and tweeted, "Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup was noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always."


Union Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed confidence in the team's future, saying, "Our team played exceptionally well throughout the World Cup and delivered memorable performances. True sportsmanship involves emerging stronger from both triumphs and setbacks. I firmly believe that you will emerge even stronger."


Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed unwavering support, stating, "Team INDIA, you played solidly well through the tournament! Win or lose - we love you either way and we will win the next one."


Bollywood Stars Join In Support
Shah Rukh Khan, who was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium with his family during the ICC World Cup final, shared a heartfelt message on X for Team India.

"The way the Indian team has played this whole tournament is a matter of honour and they showed great spirit and tenacity. It’s a sport and there are always a bad day or two. Unfortunately, it happened today….but thank you Team India for making us so proud of our sporting legacy in cricket… you bring too much cheer to the whole of India. Love and respect. You make us one proud Nation," SRK expressed, thanking the team for their efforts.


Ranveer Singh, also present at the stadium, acknowledged the highs and lows of sports.

"Some highs, some lows. Some good days, some bad days. Some wins, some losses. That's sport. That's life. We are all gutted, but let's applaud our boys for giving it their all," Singh shared on his Instagram Story.
