Kareena Kapoor Khan shocked her fans with her incredible weight loss in the 2008 action-comedy ‘Tashan’. Kapoor, who was known for being voluptuous, stunned the audience with her washboard abs and chiselled figure without a hint of flab. However, the superstar had always maintained that although she follows a disciplined lifestyle, she had never starved herself.
In a chat with ‘Chhaava’ star Vicky Kaushal for The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘3 Idiots’ actress gently took a dig at him for being on a salmon-fish-only diet, influenced by his superstar wife, Katrina Kaif. "These Punjabis, I have that gene, yaar. I mean you and your wife, you don't eat only. I think she's made you like that. You're also only eating salmon fish. Because there was a point when Katrina was, like, I think only eating salmon, like that's all she ate,” she said.
Vicky admitted that he had heard Katrina used to have only fish and vegetables when she did ‘Dhoom 3’.
Kareena revealed that although she underwent a drastic weight loss for the action extravaganza ‘Tashan’, she never starved herself. She revealed she used to have parathas even then. She advised Kaushal that the amount of food consumed throughout the day can be gradually “tapered down,” but it’s imperative to have a good breakfast.
What Did Kareena Eat For Size Zero Figure?
In an old interview with Mid-Day, Kareena credited her fitness team—Rujuta Diwekar (nutritionist) and Namrata Purohit (trainer)—for her jaw-dropping weight loss, helping her go from 68 kg to 48 kg for ‘Tashan’.
Dismissing rumours that she starved herself, Kareena stated, “I lost weight the right way. I'm a Kapoor with a Punjabi build. I can't live without wholesome food and would not have been able to conceive had I not eaten the way I did…”
She revealed that Diwekar helped her eat the right amount of carbs daily. She indulged in parathas with ghee, water with kesar (saffron), and a glass of chilled milk with gulkand.
Later, Kareena bounced back from postpartum weight gain effortlessly after her first child, Taimur, was born in 2018. In the same interview, the ‘Jab We Met’ star said that she did not spend more than 55 minutes at the gym. She revealed she was on a workout regimen that mostly consisted of Pilates and power yoga.
On the work front, Kareena was last seen in the action drama ‘Singham Again’ along with Ajay Devgn.
