Google CEO Sundar Pichai celebrates 20 years with IT giant, says he still gets a 'thrill' working with tech titan

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has completed 20 years with the tech titan. On Friday, the billionaire took to Instagram and shared a glimpse of his 20-year anniversary party and wrote that even though a lot has changed over the past few years, his zeal for his job and the thrill he got from working for Google didn’t die down.

“April 26, 2004, was my first day at Google. A lot has changed since then - technology, the number of people who use our products. my hair. What hasn’t changed - is the thrill I get from working at this amazing company. 20 years in, I’m still feeling lucky," Pichai wrote on Instagram.

The post went viral and gained more than 150K likes. Many followers and well-wishers flooded the comment section to congratulate Pichai for this milestone. “Two decades of dedication, twenty years of triumphs, and a legacy of excellence..” wrote one.

"I cannot decide on which achievement is greater, 20 years in all the technological improvements you've brought or the fact that you haven't gone bald after 20 years in tech," another user said.


Pichai joined Google in 2004 after a stint at McKinsey & Company. At Google, he oversaw the product management team and also led the innovation of products such as Chrome and Chrome OS. He was selected to become the next CEO of Google on August 10, 2015, after previously being appointed Product Chief by the then-CEO Larry Page.

Pichai is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and Stanford Business School.
