In a festive boost for Mumbaikars, the Mumbai Metro is keeping the trains running late into the night for Ganesh Chaturthi, which kicks off today, September 7. This is a fantastic move for those who love to dive into the pandal-hopping scene during the ten-day festival.
What’s new with the Metro timings?
The Mumbai Metro covers three key routes:
Metro Line 1: Ghatkopar-Andheri to Versova
Metro Line 2A: DN Nagar to Andheri-Dahisar East
Metro Line 7: Andheri to Dahisar East
For the festival, Line 1 will have its final train from Versova to Ghatkopar leaving at 12:10 AM, which is a big upgrade from the usual 11:20 PM. The last train from Ghatkopar to Versova will now depart at 12:40 AM instead of 11:45 PM.
Lines 2A and 7, managed by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL), will also extend their hours. From September 11 to 17, the last trains will run until 11:30 PM, 30 minutes later than the regular 11 PM.
