BTS member Kim Seokjin aka Jin, shone bright at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The ‘ Epiphany’ hitmaker donned the mantle of South Korea’s torchbearer at the event. The singer was seen carrying the Olympic torch to the Louvre Pyramid Museum in Paris while the crowd cheered him on.

On July 15, accompanied by fans and officials, Jin began the torch relay as the first torchbearer, carrying the Olympic flame in his right hand. He is now the first Korean singer to carry the Olympic Torch abroad.

The Korean handle of the Olympics shared many photos of the K-Pop idol looking pristine in a white ensemble, carrying the torch with a proud smile on his face, on X. The post went viral on the microblogging site, gaining almost 700K views and 71K likes.

The ARMY (BTS fans) was elated at the news. Diehard Jin fans trended the hashtag “Proud Of You Jin,” on X. “Well would you look at that. Gorgeous high def pics from an official source. He looks so good. I couldn't be more proud if he were my actual child….” wrote on fan. Another fan gushed over his immaculate good looks. “Olympic Torchbearer Jin looks STUNNING!” reads the comment.

Jin left for France on Thursday to participate in the torch relay, which has been ongoing in the country for over two months. Although the reason for the singer's participation wasn't disclosed, it is likely due to BTS's global fame and their message of 'love yourself'.

Before Jin began his segment of the relay, the organizers surprised the crowd by playing his viral song "Super Tuna." The fans' cheers made Jin burst into laughter.

The torch arrived in Paris on Sunday, which coincided with Bastille Day, a French national holiday commemorating the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution. Following its arrival, the torch will travel to various landmarks in Paris until Monday, then return to the provinces before coming back to Paris for the opening ceremony on July 26.

The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 27 to August 11, hosting over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports. As per the official Olympics website, this year's games will feature 10,000 Olympic torchbearers and celebrations will occur in more than 400 towns and cities throughout France and its five overseas regions.
