Enforcement Directorate on Friday carried out searches at 21 locations across Jharkhand, Delhi and West Bengal in connection with the Ayushman Bharat case in Jharkhand.
According to people in the know, the premises searched by the agency are related to key suspects in the alleged fraud network, including consultants, former executives of associated firms, officials/consultants linked to Jharkhand State Arogya Society, employees and offices of third-party administrators (TPAs like MD India, Safeway, Medi Assist) and their associates. Premises allegedly linked to Om Prakash Singh, private secretary to a former health minister of Jharkhand, were also searched.
Agency sources said that ED's PMLA probe further suggests that proceeds of crime were allegedly generated through systematic fraud within the Ayushman Bharat scheme, involving alleged manipulation of hospital empanelment and processing of fake claims facilitated by a nexus demanding commissions/kickbacks.
Some of the localities searched by ED sleuths in Ranchi include Lalpur, Morhabadi, PP Compound, Ashok Nagar and Chiraundi.
