Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 19 of the ongoing (Indian Premier League) season. Notably, this will be a rare occurrence where a Sunday will not be a double-header in the IPL.
SRH put up a record total in their first game this season but petered out to lose three in a row and reeled in the last spot in the IPL points table. Their last game was a blowout as they succumbed to their worst-ever defeat in the IPL. SRH took early wickets in the powerplay against KKR, but the Knights fought back. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi put up a partnership, but it was Venkatesh Iyer's death-over explosion that took KKR to safety. Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana blew up KKR's top order, while the rest of the bowling chipped in to give KKR a big win.
GT swept RCB away in Bengaluru to get two consecutive wins. Former RCB player Mohammed Siraj ripped into RCB in the powerplay and kept GT ahead of the constantly. Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone and Tim David gave the Titans a good fightback, but the defence didn't pan out too well. Despite a slow start, Sai Sudharsan put up a platform which was exquisitely exploited by Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford to wrap up the chase well before the over-limit.
