Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 3 (ANI): Bengaluru Police have arrested four women involved in the theft of 38 silk sarees, valued at approximately Rs 17.5 lakhs. The incident occurred at a silk shop in the JP Nagar area.
According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda, "These four women, along with two others, visited a silk shop in JP Nagar and attempted to divert the attention of the shop workers. They tried to leave with about 18 sarees."
The shop staff, suspecting their behaviour, stopped and questioned them. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the women had been involved in similar thefts at other shops in JP Nagar and Jayanagar, leading to the recovery of the stolen sarees.
"Four women have been arrested in this case, and we are working to apprehend the two others," added Commissioner Dayananda. (ANI)
