Skoda Auto India today launched the much anticipated Skoda Kylaq compact SUV in the Indian market. With this, Skoda is entering the much competitive sub-compact SUV segment for the first time in the Indian market and will rival the Hyundai Venue , Kia Sonet , Tata Nexon , Maruti Suzuki Brezza and other sub-compact SUVs in the Indian market. In this article, let’s compare the Skoda Kylaq with the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
First let’s compare the prices and variants, the Kylaq is offered in four variant - Classic, Signature, Signature Plus, and Prestige. Price for the compact SUV starts from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the complete price list will be revealed at a later date. Bookings for the SUV will begin on December 2, 2024, with customer deliveries slated to start on January 27, 2025.
The Nexon is offered in Smart, Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, Creative+ S, Fearless, Fearless S and Fearless+ S. The Brezza gets LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI plus variants and prices range from 8.34 lakh to Rs 14.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Comparing the dimensions next, the Kylaq measures 3,995 mm in length, 1975 mm in width, 1575 mm height and has a 2,566 mm wheelbase with a ground clearance of 189 mm. The Maruti Brezza measures identical 3995 mm in length, 1790 mm in width, 1685 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2500 mm. The new Nexon measures 3995 mm in length, 1804 mm in width, 1620 in height and has 2498 mm of wheelbase.
