Nissan India has announced a recall of their popular and sole model in India, the Magnite sub-compact SUV. The company has said that the recall targets a specific issue with the front door handle sensor , affecting the units within the XE and XL trims of the model.
Nissan Magnite recall: Which units are affected
According to the manufacturer, the recall includes Magnite units manufactured between November 2020 and December 2023. The units rolled out of the production line in 2024 won’t be affected. Further, the carmaker has assured that the fault does not pose a safety risk to passengers and won't affect the car's drivability.
While details regarding the exact nature of the sensor malfunction haven't been disclosed, Nissan has confirmed they will be contacting affected customers directly in April to schedule replacements.
If you own a Magnite that has been manufactured within the mentioned time frame, it is advised to wait for a communication from the company and get the issue fixed free of charge at the company’s official service network across the country.
Powering the Nissan Magnite is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder NA petrol engine. It is offered in four variants - XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium with prices starting from Rs 6.0 lakh, ex-showroom, and going all the way up to Rs 9.65 lakh, ex-showroom, for the flagship Magnite Turbo MT XV Kuro Edition.
