Maruti Suzuki India recently revealed the next generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan in the Indian market. Booking about is set at Rs 11,000 and the price announcement will be made on November 11, 2024. Ahead of launch, the official fuel efficiency figures of the sedan has been revealed. The new Dzire ’s ARAI-rated fuel efficiency figure is 24.79kpl for manual variants and 25.71kpl for AMT models.
The new Dzire is powered by a new Z-series, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine with 82 hp power and 112 nm torque. This engine made its debut with the new Swift and the Dzire is the second Maruti model to be equipped with this powertrain. Gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The CNG variant will be launched later and will only be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The new Dzire is no longer just a Swift with boot, the sedan features an all-new exterior design with no resemblance to the new Swift or outgoing Dzire. It features a prominent grille at the front, flanked by sleek rectangular LED headlamps. The new Dzire also showcases redesigned fog lamp housing, complemented by a bold gloss black trim that links the headlamps, finished off with a chrome strip at the bottom.
At the rear, it features Y-shaped LED elements in the tail lights, joined by a chrome strip that spans the tailgate. The boot lid has a spoiler-style bulge, and the rear bumper includes distinctive contouring. The top-spec trims will come equipped with 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and also LED taillights with DRLs. The new Dzire measures 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,525mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,450mm and a ground clearance of 163mm. The car ’s dimensions are almost identical to the previous model, with the only difference being a 10mm increase in height.
Moving inside, the interior layout is the same as the new Swift but it features a dual-tone dashboard with few other cosmetic changes. It features a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto , connected car tech, semi-digital cluster, automatic climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel and more. It also gets segment-first features such as a single-pane electric sunroof, rear AC vents, a rear centre armrest and a 360-degree camera. Safety-wise, it gets six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX mounts and more.
