Beyoncé confirms Kamala Harris endorsement at her hometown Houston

Pop star Beyoncé joined forces with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris at her Houston rally, ending months of speculation about her potential endorsement. With just 11 days left for the November 5 election, this high-profile appearance is expected to bolster Harris' campaign as she faces a tight race with Republican former President Donald Trump. Beyoncé's presence means a great deal to Harris as her song Freedom centred on Black women's empowerment, has been an anthem for the US Vice President's campaign.

Time for America to sing a new song: Beyoncé

The Cowboy Carter hitmaker said that she's not here as a politician but as a mother, breaking the gathering into a big applause. "A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in," she added. Beyoncé was welcomed by a cheering crowd as she took centre stage at the rally hand-in-hand with former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland. Bey's mother, Tina Knowles, was also present on the occasion.

“It’s time to sing a new song,” Beyoncé told the crowd, adding “A song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of downfall, discord, despair no longer resonate.” “Our moment is now,” she added. “It’s time for America to sing a new song. Our voices sing a chorus of unity," she said before introducing Kamala Harris to the stage.

 Beyoncé's fans disappointed

Beyoncé, whose Renaissance World Tour had Europe and North America going berserk earlier this year, didn't perform at the rally, much to the disappointment of Bey-hive. However, most supporters said they were happy that Bey finally cleared her stance in the upcoming election with the Harris endorsement. They were treated to a Beyoncé playlist as the rally wrapped up.

Bruce Springsteen's musical support of Kamala Harris

Bruce Springsteen continues to show his support of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz. He attended Harris' When We Vote We Win rally in Georgia Thursday night, which also saw Former US president Barack Obama in attendance. The Boss performed three songs at the rally — The Promised Land, Land of Hope and Dreams, and Dancing in the Dark — bringing a wave of hope and cheer among the Democrats supporters.


Meanwhile, speaking at her Houston rally, Kamala Harris urged voters to exercise their rights. "Voting has already started, and we know this will be a tight race until the very end," Harris said. "We are 11 days out from an election that will decide the future of America, including the freedom of every woman to make decisions about her own body."
