Ladli Behan Yojana: What is Ladli Behan Yojana, whose installment is going to be released

The Government of India, in collaboration with the state governments, runs many schemes according to the needs of its citizens. In 2023, the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana to assist and empower women in the state.

Under this scheme, a fixed amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts of women every month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). So far 13 installments have been given. Today i.e. on July 5, the current Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav will release the next installment of this scheme. What is Ladli Behna Yojana?

On January 28, 2023, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the Ladli Behna Yojana to promote women's empowerment in the state. Initially, ₹1000 was given to women every month under this scheme. However, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, ₹250 more were added to it, increasing the monthly benefit to ₹1250 for eligible women.

According to the data, around 4.77 lakh women have benefited from the Ladli Bahana Yojana. 13 installments have already been released and today on July 5, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will release the 14th installment. Earlier this installment was transferred to the accounts on the 10th of every month, but CM Mohan Yadav has announced that now it will be transferred on the 5th of every month.

Who is eligible for this scheme?

The Chief Minister Ladli Bahana Yojana is exclusively for women living in Madhya Pradesh. To be eligible, the annual income of the woman's family should be less than ₹2.50 lakh. Additionally, no member of the family should be an income taxpayer, own more than 5 acres of agricultural land, or be employed in a government job. The scheme has also been extended to unmarried women aged 21 years and above.
