The Government of India runs many schemes for citizens of different age groups or financially disabled people, in which special attention is given to farmers, because more than half of the country's population is dependent on agriculture. Many farmers struggle to get income, for them the government started Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan).
Under this scheme, eligible farmers get Rs 2000-2000 i.e. Rs 6,000 per year in three installments. So far, the government has released a total of 18 installments, and farmers are waiting for the 19th installment.
When can the 19th installment be released
The Government of India provides PM-Kisan assistance to farmers through DBT. So far, more than 13 crore farmers across the country have benefited from this scheme. The 18th installment was released by Prime Minister Modi on October 5.
Usually these installments are distributed by the government every four months. So the 19th installment is expected to be released in February next year, although no official announcement has been made yet.
Which farmers will not get the 19th installment
To qualify for the PM-Kisan scheme, the government has set eligibility criteria, and only farmers who meet these criteria can avail the benefits of this scheme. Recently, the government has made e-KYC and land verification mandatory for this scheme. Farmers who fail to do so before the 19th installment is released will not get it.
